Will moving Cannons Concept to a blog format hurt SEO

So the question came up, will moving Cannons Concept to a blog hurt my SEO performance on Google. The easy answer from my previous search terms is yes. Cannons Concept was targeting keywords such as web design and graphic design. Oddly enough, Cannons Concept was actually doing very well with these keywords and other keyword phrases. The next question would come up, why would you change your website into a blog?

Well, the short and sweet answer is, I am not targeting any keywords to draw traffic at the moment. This means I don’t need to custom build my pages. Moving Cannons Concept into a blog environment actually cuts down on maintenance of the website. Now I can actually work on creating content that people may find valuable. I am hoping that I can help people find solutions to problems that I run into or find some useful tips and tricks to whats out there on the web.

In short, moving a custom built website into a CMS environment will have an impact on overall SEO performance of the website. If you are not worried about keywords then there is no reason to stpo yourself from working smarter, not harder.

From Business to Blog

Cannons Concept has transformed from a business to a location for information on all sorts of things. I decided that it would be more useful for me to provide information rather than services at this point in time. Don’t fret however, I will be providing businesses that get my two thumbs up in their own section. I will try to continue to bring you good service even if it’s from a third party.

I felt this would be an easier avenue to keep Cannons Concept social media items fresh and so clean clean. The only problem with this new site, is that I am not a very good writer so you will end up seeing typos and things of that sort. Hopefully, this will make the site more personable to people that check here for answers to their questions on the various topics of web and SEO.

I can’t say my concepts are always going to be right or ever going to be right. There are so many ways to fix an issue, and my thoughts are only concepts. I hope you get what you need from my website. Feel free to sign up and leave comments anytime!

Friends of Olde Downtown Garland

This should be the last post I bring from the older posts onto the new Cannons Concept. I wanted to give Friends of Olde Downtown Garland and their website two thumbs up!

Wanted to give a thanks to the Friends of Olde Downtown Garland (FODG) for giving me the opportunity to design their website. FODG is a non-profit, organization for citizens committed to the preservation, development and support of our Olde Downtown, its merchants and businesses. We provide a vehicle for our citizens to become acquainted with other citizens with like interest and enjoy involvement and participation in events in our historic old downtown.

It was great working with Cleo on this website and designing it in such a way to make it easy for people to go to the website, learn a little about the organization, and hopefully joining it. This website was based off the logo colors and needs of the organization.

How to fix WordPress url settings

This was an old post about fixing WordPress url settings if they get messed up on your blog.

Had a little scare today while looking at my wordpress files. While trying to update a link on my blog settings I unintinally caused a glitch that made my wordpress go caput! Apparently if you change the general URL settings (which I thought was the link I needed to change) it makes your blog die. It took a while to figure out the problem but I did find the fix through google. I decided this could happen to anyone so I wanted to make it easy for people to find this link.
